Description

Adelaide Botanic High School was designed as South Australia’s first vertical school in collaboration with DesignInc (education planning + interior design) and Cox Architecture (architectural envelope + base building). Located within beautiful parklands adjacent to Adelaide Botanic Garden, the architecture combines science and nature in a connected learning environment. The school’s heart is an active light-filled atrium connecting multi-story buildings. Flexible learning areas encourage collaboration and connection between students. Designed for a 5-Star Green Star As-Built rating, environmental design minimises energy and water use in support of the city’s Adelaide to Zero Carbon Challenge.
