Textile + Print Designer

We are seeking a full time Textile + Print Designer with experience in commercial interiors to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview

As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for creating captivating colour ranges and innovative prints for textile upholstery, screen and acoustic applications. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, attention to detail and a passion for textiles to produce visually stunning and commercially viable designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop textile and acoustic print designs for the commercial interiors market considering current trends, market demands and brand identity.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing and production to ensure design concepts align with brand objectives and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough research on emerging trends, colour forecasts, and textile innovations to inspire and inform design and colour concepts.
  • Utilise digital design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (PS, AI, ID) or equivalent tools to create digital designs, colourways and proofs.
  • Translate conceptual ideas into tangible designs by effectively communicating concepts through sketches, mood boards and digital renderings.
  • Participate in design meetings, presentations and brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to oversee the production process, ensuring accurate colour matching and quality control.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, advancements in printing technologies and sustainable practices to enhance design processes and promote eco-friendly initiatives.
  • Maintain organised digital and physical archives of design assets, colour swatches, textiles samples and prints.
  • Liaise with sales teams for product training and custom design project briefs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design or related field.
  • Proven experience (min 5 years) as a colourist or print designer within the textile industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing original designs and creative versatility.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (PS, AI, ID).
  • Excellent understanding of colour theory and pattern repeat principles.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to quality assurance.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving trends, design requirements and project scopes.
  • Passion for creativity, innovation, and a genuine interest in the intersection of design and textiles.
