An Australian story.
Instyle is thrilled to work with Qantas to develop custom fabric designs for their historic inflight safety video.
To celebrate their centenary, Qantas has released an epic video showcasing how flying has changed over the past 100 years, with aviation milestones from the 1920s to present day.
The iconic Australian brand commissioned Instyle’s inhouse design studio to produce fabrics for a bespoke replica set of their inaugural business class lounge from the 1970’s, one of the video’s stand-out scenes.
Drawing inspiration from photos of the original cabin provided by Qantas’ heritage team, Instyle’s textile designer Carol Debono created three patterns based on wood-knots, plane propellers and ship steering wheels.
The vibrant fabrics are made from Australian wool and locally-produced at one of the few surviving woollen textile mills in the country.
